Michael Rogers is a national leader in FDA compliance and product quality whose 34-year FDA career included key executive roles directing strategic public health initiatives and programs. His extensive oversight of domestic and foreign inspections and investigations is the cornerstone of his work at Canal Row helping companies maintain operational strength and firm regulatory standing.
Mr. Rogers served as the FDA’s Associate Commissioner for the Office of Regulatory Affairs and later as Associate Commissioner for Inspections and Investigations, overseeing the largest cross-programmatic inspectorate globally. He led this 4,000-person organization—including the Office of Criminal Investigations, the Office of Import Operations, and the Office of Emergency Response—through the largest-scale reorganization in FDA history to establish a more modern, agile, and quality-forward operation.
Prior to this, Mr. Rogers oversaw food safety inspections and investigations as Assistant Commissioner for Human and Animal Food Operations. He also served in Costa Rica as FDA Regional Director for Latin America, managing agency offices in Costa Rica, Mexico, and Chile, in addition to developing international agreements and providing oversight for FDA-regulated firms exporting products to the U.S. Mr. Rogers began his career as a field investigator conducting domestic and foreign inspections in multiple program areas.
Mr. Rogers holds a master’s in science of management from the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s from North Carolina State University.
